Ivonne is a passionate music educator, specializing in teaching piano & vocal. She received her Master of Music degree from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, came back to Indonesia in 2005, and has been teaching in the music department of Universitas Pelita Harapan since then. In 2006, she briefly held the position of Dean of Music in Institut Musik Daya, and currently, she also serves as the music director of Jakarta International Community Choir (JICC).
This year (2008) has been the busiest for Ivonne. Her projects include:
- April 19-20: Sakura Matsuri Charity Concert @Nikko Hotel
- May 2-3: JICC Collaborative Concert @UPH (Universitas Pelita Harapan)
- May 11-12: JICC Spring Concert
- August 8: Opening of her music school
- August 19: Musical Theatre Concert @UPH Festival
- October: Broadway Musical Theatre Concert
- November 27-30: Jakjazz
- December: Hairspray The Musical
Still, her private students at home keep her busy and alive all week long. Many of her private students are currently Indonesian best-selling pop/jazz artists whose CDs (hopefully not pirated!) you’re likely to have on your rack already.
Ivonne firmly believes that a good music education will make a better person. She loves teaching very much and is currently working fervently on setting up her own music school, MUSIC REPUBLIC. The school is scheduled to be up & running on August 8th, 2008.
